Education Empowers Inc. mission is to welcome, engage, educate, and inspire youth and empower our diverse communities through education programs.  We focus on STEAM career exploration programs, Robotics, Drones, AI, Coding, 3D printing, CAD, Soldering, and Sustainability education programs, to instill passion for learning & discovery, confidence to enable scholarship and STEAM career opportunities.

Who We Are?

We are a community of volunteers, passionate about education for all children.

Our generous Sponsors are local industries. We partner with volunteers from local industries, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and nonprofits partners supporting underserved & under-represented children in STEAM. We are the official STEAM, Robotics, Drones, AI and Sustainability program partners for Girl Scouts of Arizona Cactus Pine, Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital, Boys & Girls clubs, ICAN, Motivated Vessels of Possibilities (MVP), and Native Indian schools & local schools.

What Do We Do?

We help create after-school STEM clubs, Robotics clubs, Drone clubs, AI & Coding clubs, Maker clubs (Soldering, CAD, 3D printing), APP building clubs, Sustainability & STEAM career exploration programs to promote year around opportunities and instill passion for learning. Thanks to our program sponsors & supporters, most of our programs are offered free of cost to our program partners.

Anna Prakash-Ashton

Anna Prakash Ph.D. is the cofounder of the nonprofit, Education Empowers Inc. Anna is an engineer in Chandler, Arizona, and has several patents and technical papers published in STEM fields. Anna is the winner of the Society of Women Engineers Prism award and the Intel Global Hero Volunteer award in 2019.

Elaina Ashton

Elaina Ashton is the co-founder of the nonprofit, Education Empowers Inc. Elaina is currently an engineering student at Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona. She is the 2020 winner of the Arizona 18under18 award and the SWEnext local innovator award.

Abigail Agwai

Abigail Agwai received her BS, MS and Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona. She is a Packaging Engineer at Intel. Abigail is passionate about introducing the next generation to the exciting world of STEM.

Emile Davies-Venn works at Intel as an Analog Engineer. He is passionate about stimulating the imagination of young minds through STEM, enabling them to see the possibilities available in this field of study. Over the years, he has volunteered with various organizations including Big Brother Big Sister, Junior Achievement and Education Empowers Inc.

Cal Bole

Calvin Bole is currently retired after working many years successfully in Marketing & Sales. Cal & his wife Donna spend time working for charitable causes. Cal brings in years of experience working with non-profits and generously mentors team members.

Neethu Elizabeth Simon

Neethu is a software lead building Edge AI solutions for various domains including retail and healthcare. Neethu is passionate about sharing her learnings with others and volunteering her time for the advancement of women and girls in STEAM. She is the 2020 SWE Distinguished New Engineer Awardee and IEEE Senior Member. 

About our founding team

Education Empowers Inc. 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization was founded in 2016 by Anna & Elaina, a mother - daughter team, based in Chandler, Arizona, to share their passion for technology & volunteering with local community children. Their change making story has been featured in several media.
